Review.... Sidewinders

I have had the pleasure, of doing a product review on Sidewinders Hair Holders. This being my first official review i wanted it to be perfect. But perfection doesn't exist in the hair world. you just give it your best and hope for the best, or at least  learn what you would do diffierent if you have the oppurnity.

I was sooo excited when i got the package in the mail....

Since I have a boy, I really didn't think that I should add these babies to my arsenal, But i'm glad I did, they make perfect gifts and add pizazz, to most of the plain quick and easy hairstyles I have done.( But i am thinking about getting some black and clear ones to try on Tye, stay tuned for that post.

I was really excited when i received my package in the mail. Shipping was extraordinarily QUICK... I mean in a matter of Days, its like processing time didn't exist

So far my favorite quick and easy style with the sidewinders, was to use as a sort of bridge between ponytails.

Even though sidewinders are easy to put on, I had trouble on my first attempt, but the second go around was perfect, and quick. It sure beats trying to put on 20 plus beads on a braid, even with an easy beader.

What I liked most about the sidewinders beside them being easy to put on the mix and matching you can do, is that, it kept, the children busy, while, i parted, detangled, and style the hair. I used the sidewinder hair holders on several children and each child had a blast twisting, retwisting and mix and matching the sidewinders. Which was a blessing, because it can be trying and hard at times to style a young children s hair, and we try many tricks and treats to try and keep them busy and calm. by their selves the side winders did the trick, with out the movie, the candy and the toys.... That in it self is a reason to buy them.

I had so much fun playing with these and trying to find fun and creative styles

you can buy them here at their website

who knew something so cute, could come from the inspriration on an Rv.

Finger Curls on Boys

So for the rest of the week Tye is wearing finger coils/curls in his hair... it was SO simple and easy to do.I have done this style on Tye before, but he was younger, and this go around since i did them smaller i was worried about him looking too much like a girl... I am glad to say that was not the case, and i loved the results, enjoy the picture
So i started off, with dirty dirty hair... (i was too lazy to wash it) and i spritz it my oil and water mix ( olive oil, grape seed oil, peppermint oil, and coconut oil) and i decided to give Shea Moistures Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk a try again, it wasn't a go for me, but i liked it on Tye's hair ( i may need to try it without the mix to see how it does)

can i saw we are both excited about his lenght, ( now its time to work on mine )

When each section was moisten with my mix, I trilled each section around my finger, to achieve the coil look. This is also know as Finger Coilstightly curly method, comb coils/curls and it can also be achieve doing by straw curls

half way done, love the way it looks

2 days later

after a second day of playing hard

on the way to the nail shop for pedicure, little boys need nice toes too, ( and Tye's toes, be looking jacked a lot of the time :o)

we will be defiantly doing this style more often, stay tuned for updates? maybe daily, well see

and this style could defiantly be accomplished on people of all ages, its an cute infant style for baby boys or firls, toddler girl and boy styles, preschool age and up... and it would be perfect for a special occaision, just add a biw or cute hair clips for a girl or a awesome hat, tie, or sun glasses for boys

DisneyLand Recap...

For awhile, I have comteplated getting Annual passes to Disney for Tye and myself, but cold not find myself spending all of that money. SO i was very pleased to learn, that they offered a monthly payment plan with different level ranging from $9.00 month to $35.00 a month. Awesome right? The downside, is that you would have to put a down payment of 80 dollars per ticket. But since the "year" doesn't start till the first time you use the pass, you can break up down payments and spread the cost... But any who

Recently I took Tye to Disneyland Park for the first time and he had a Blast. I can't believe i spent I woke up with w migraine, and went back to sleep, so instead of leaving at 6 am , we left at 10. two Tylenol Extra Strengths and we were good to go.

Since I don't have car we used Public transportation. I didn't know there were so many different ways to get to Disneyland, from Down Town Los Angeles

Since it was out first time going i think i was over prepared... Before Hand, I made a check list of all of the rides he was tall enough to get on and in which part they were located, bathroom breaks etc....

Up above Tye is checking out his map of Disneyland

I even made our own little autograph book, which is also going to double as a scrap book, when we're done, stay tuned for a post on that coming soon

we were waiting in line for his first ride... and the wait was long

for weeks leading up to the trip, I searched high and low for a shirt that would be perfect for his first trip to Disneyland, And think I nailed. Micky with a Mohawk... one of Tye's Favorite styles, I might attempt to do one on our next trip... We got the shirt form the Disney Store online

I was kinda freaked out by "Its a Small world" but he seemed to enjoy it

Knocked out on the long ride on.... Stay tuned for more Disney Fun.... Since i have the season pass, I plan on going to only 1 area each time and hopefully we can do everything :o) eventually

Tye's new rainboots...Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

So if you have ever been on my personally page, and seen pictures, you know tye Loves him some rainboots, he can wear them with anything, and i mean anything. I remeber when he was 2, for the whole summer, he wear his boots with everything, basketball shorts, church clothes, his swimsuits, you name it. So you can imagine, when i see a pair I grab them... :o)

So you can just guess, what I did when i saw these.... they were bright and colorfull, and the icing on top of the cake, one of his favorite books is chicka chicka boom boom by Bill Martin Jr.
thes soles are really thick and solid
the print is superb, here's a close up

even though they are made of good quality rubber, and very sturdry, they were ligt weight enough so that he was able to run and play kickball today, and even climb around and ride his bike...

I'll think they'll hold up to lots of Tye use/

Since he already had 2 pair of rainboots in his current size, I brougt these bigger so he can wore them, next fall... well last night he got into the box  and was super excited, he marched around the house in just his undies, showing off his new boots... he even had to wear them to school day...

Now all I have to do is find a jacket, and a umberlla, we'd be good to go... and don't they just help the pictures POP...!!!!

Oh and he got his hair comed out last night after wearing a afro for a couple of days, so his hair is in 6 chunky twist....

Disney Land.. QUick and Easy Hair STyle for Boys or Girls

So Yesterday, we went to disneyland.
For the past 3 weeks, TYe has had his hair in braids and since i cut my thumb, i was not looking forward to taking them down...

and Since we were going to Disneyland Saturday and his hair was looking jacked I was forced to take them down. I started late Friday night and never finished.. bad mommy.
as you can see tye was looking rough by the head, more than usual
But look at that, he's trying to play catch up with Choco from Charlotte's Avenue

This is what his hair looked like when we arrived at Disney Land

This is what it looked like after a trip to the bathroom sink....

the back with braids still in...

I think of  theseas his "boy" head bands, he can't wear the really cute one for girls, so we accesorize with differnt colored glasses....

and how it looked later in the evening, after a day of Fun

SO I considred this a quick and easy style, because i only used water and his sunglasses.... :o) enjoy,
Stye tuned for a girly disneyland version, and other disney goodies and post... :o)
