Guick and Easy ponytail style for natural Hair

So here's a a quick mini post and a simple hairstyle that i think is a classic, ponytails and barrettes, what's not to love, it has such a big variety you can do just about anything.

the front is ponytail is encased by two braids into a ponytail.

The ponytails at the crown are in a triangle type design

and the back is squared ponies

For this style I used
cantu leave in conditioner
and my oil mix, with water.

I loved how her 4c hair helped the twist, and her twist out Was LOVELY

Criscross, braids, ponytails and beads

Ms. K is in love with braids and beads in any style. she could have her hair out and curly but would need at least 1 braid with beads on it. Well actually any style with braids and beads in any combination and she happy. But  Ms. K is usually always upset with me because i tend to run out of time and she never is able to get beads, and this time, i did run out  of time almost but she got her beads

for this style i parted her hair in half at the crown.

and braided it into a simple X design going towards the back

for the back portion

i did simple square shaped ponytails, braided down and added beads.

Braids and Beads = 1 happy kid

cantu, nuNAAT, T tree, and my special mix of oils

Easy Random ponytails on natural

So i had the pleasure, of Styling this little cuties hair recently and we both loved the results.... the day started off, by going to buy some last minute hair products for her dad and auntie to use on her hair after the style was done. So we headed to Target and their hair product section, and brought some goodies, to help maintain her gorgeous locks....
we ended up using Hello Hydration Conditioner  to Shampoo her hair. It was my first time using it, and I LOVED it.. I first hear about them from Beads, Braids and Beyond, and it worked really well

This Ms. Wy's hair fresh out of the shower, can you see how her hair is forming think clumps of curls...

He are her curls asfter detangling, and that is all of the hair that has come out.
Daddy has been taking good care of her locks...

To achieve the curls above, I used a little of Cantu Coconut Curl Creme ( which I think is very similar to Sea Mousiture's Coconut and Hibiscus styling Milk)
and my own little mixture too, see how her curls are popping....

Who doesn't love  Shrinkage......

But I did random ponytails, around her head, and 2 strand twisted them and added rubberbands at the ends to help the barrettes stay in place

Quick and easy hairstyle on natural curly hair for toddlers tweens, teens and kids

So this style was super easy to complete, it is just one ponytail and a braid going across.

Ms. S's hair was washed and her last hair style kinda of gave her the banded effect, so i made a small part going across the front of her head, and did one french braid, for a kinda headband effect

/
can  you tell these are baseballs? she picked them  out herself :o)

But I added a large clear butterfly bead and a shell to make it a little more girly

So here is our Quick and easy style that took less than 10 minutes to do.

Hair Carnival.......CopyCaT styles

So we get to do another copycat, style....Yay, but with the camera out of commission i didn't really know what i was going to do, I was paired with "Expressions of a Drama Tween" who not only has a "hair issues" but is also a picky eater.... as i was going through her blog i found a couple of things i wanted to try or have done in the past...
i noticed her daugther Yaya, loved to wear her hair in in any kinda of braid twist or Bantu knot out, which works perfect for her age, but since i was working on a 3 year old i had to mix it up a bit.I put little ms. H's braid out half up and half down, since I nor or mother would've liked all of that waistline hair to be out all day.

this is a simple braid out to achieve this look and brushed half into a ponytail and left the rest down and added a cute  barrette to cover up the plain rubber band and match her outfit

first up is her random style she did her drama tween using zig zag parts, I must say my favorite because i did something similar

and she is always on the search for yummy lunches for her daughter,

and here are some of my fun tricks i have tried with tye, to get him some variety and fun

a spider made out of oranges grapes and apple slices

Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jelly on pita bread, with goldfish and fruit skewers

diy peanut butter and banana crackers,, like her homemade lunchable of cheese and crackers

and being a mother and a preschool teacher who is always trying to come up with something fun, I thought i  will give it a try at documenting all of the goodies i come up with, thanks for the inspirations, Melly...

Review.... Sidewinders

I have had the pleasure, of doing a product review on Sidewinders Hair Holders. This being my first official review i wanted it to be perfect. But perfection doesn't exist in the hair world. you just give it your best and hope for the best, or at least  learn what you would do diffierent if you have the oppurnity.

I was sooo excited when i got the package in the mail....

Since I have a boy, I really didn't think that I should add these babies to my arsenal, But i'm glad I did, they make perfect gifts and add pizazz, to most of the plain quick and easy hairstyles I have done.( But i am thinking about getting some black and clear ones to try on Tye, stay tuned for that post.

I was really excited when i received my package in the mail. Shipping was extraordinarily QUICK... I mean in a matter of Days, its like processing time didn't exist

So far my favorite quick and easy style with the sidewinders, was to use as a sort of bridge between ponytails.

Even though sidewinders are easy to put on, I had trouble on my first attempt, but the second go around was perfect, and quick. It sure beats trying to put on 20 plus beads on a braid, even with an easy beader.

What I liked most about the sidewinders beside them being easy to put on the mix and matching you can do, is that, it kept, the children busy, while, i parted, detangled, and style the hair. I used the sidewinder hair holders on several children and each child had a blast twisting, retwisting and mix and matching the sidewinders. Which was a blessing, because it can be trying and hard at times to style a young children s hair, and we try many tricks and treats to try and keep them busy and calm. by their selves the side winders did the trick, with out the movie, the candy and the toys.... That in it self is a reason to buy them.

I had so much fun playing with these and trying to find fun and creative styles

you can buy them here at their website

who knew something so cute, could come from the inspriration on an Rv.

Finger Curls on Boys

So for the rest of the week Tye is wearing finger coils/curls in his hair... it was SO simple and easy to do.I have done this style on Tye before, but he was younger, and this go around since i did them smaller i was worried about him looking too much like a girl... I am glad to say that was not the case, and i loved the results, enjoy the picture
So i started off, with dirty dirty hair... (i was too lazy to wash it) and i spritz it my oil and water mix ( olive oil, grape seed oil, peppermint oil, and coconut oil) and i decided to give Shea Moistures Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk a try again, it wasn't a go for me, but i liked it on Tye's hair ( i may need to try it without the mix to see how it does)

can i saw we are both excited about his lenght, ( now its time to work on mine )

When each section was moisten with my mix, I trilled each section around my finger, to achieve the coil look. This is also know as Finger Coilstightly curly method, comb coils/curls and it can also be achieve doing by straw curls

half way done, love the way it looks

2 days later

after a second day of playing hard

on the way to the nail shop for pedicure, little boys need nice toes too, ( and Tye's toes, be looking jacked a lot of the time :o)

we will be defiantly doing this style more often, stay tuned for updates? maybe daily, well see

and this style could defiantly be accomplished on people of all ages, its an cute infant style for baby boys or firls, toddler girl and boy styles, preschool age and up... and it would be perfect for a special occaision, just add a biw or cute hair clips for a girl or a awesome hat, tie, or sun glasses for boys

large 2 strand twist on teen/tween

so for the past couple of weeks i have been trying to do protective styles on everyone's hair, and my little cousin 2 was no exception.... This time i opted to do larger 2 strand twist, so it would be easier to take out

before starting her hair we washed it in the other twist she had, and then detangled...
as alwas, so it seems, my camera always dies before i am able to finish taking pictures, so here's a picture of the twist 3 weeks later

yea those are 3 weeks old, i think they held up pretty good
