large 2 strand twist on teen/tween

so for the past couple of weeks i have been trying to do protective styles on everyone's hair, and my little cousin 2 was no exception.... This time i opted to do larger 2 strand twist, so it would be easier to take out

before starting her hair we washed it in the other twist she had, and then detangled...
as alwas, so it seems, my camera always dies before i am able to finish taking pictures, so here's a picture of the twist 3 weeks later

yea those are 3 weeks old, i think they held up pretty good

Boys braided faux hawk, with twist

so you all know i love a fro on tye, but i also love the mohawk....
if you didn't check out the last one I did on little ms. S, you can see the little girl version  of the braid and twist mohawk. faux hawk here

I started out \by moisturizing and detangling his fro... it looks like a lot of work but it wasn't....

this is what his hair looked like after detangling...
i then proceeded to section his hair into  5 parts, just like the girly variation of the style
you see the perfect little coil? got to love it

double trouble

have you done anything similar? we loved to see pictures

Indiviual mini braids or box braids on Boys and girls

So i did this style a long time ago on Tye Like October 2011, It was one of my favorites,
  1.  I didn't have to comb it
  2. it didn't take too long to put in
  3.  and I think his hair really retained some its growth
But  I did not like taking them out... it was soo tedious... I attempted to take them out dry which was my first mistake and with out a comb.... I promise it took me at least 2 weeks to take them out completely... but once i used a comb and a some spray we were good to go

i semi used a thecnique i learned from my blogger friend Rae over
tweeny hair, a awesome site for styles for older children

this is 6 weeks after i did them, they lasted a while

our poor backyard, wondering what happened? the California wind storms and you can see i was starting to take them out

my poor ashy baby, i should've used Johnson's and Jonson's baby lotion, lol

if you're worried about the length of your son's or daugthers hair, check out Shay over at mainly braids, and  the mini braids she did on her son, man's hair. or the braids on her daugther here
